Five Ways for Teachers to Recharge This Summer.

Say, “Thank You!” to a teacher this week. Tell them about these 5 creative ways to recharge this summer! Send them this article from The Greater Good Science Center, which, according to their website:

“…has been at the fore of a new scientific movement to explore the roots of happy and compassionate individuals, strong social bonds, and altruistic behavior—the science of a meaningful life.”

In her article, Emily Campbell, a research assistant for the Greater Good Science Center’s education program and a Ph.D. student in education at UC Berkeley, suggests 5 exercises for teachers at the end of the school year. She gives some great ideas for restoration centered in:

  1. Forgiveness
  2. Self-compassion
  3. Renewing a sense of awe of the world we live in
  4. Recognizing gratitude, and
  5. Using photos to create meaning in your life.

Whether we are teachers or not, we can all use these exercises to review, refresh, revitalize and recharge this summer!
